I love the packaging, neat, see-through, strong and well put together. When eating Pinoy cakes and pastries I have to put aside my English cultural expectations. With the Brazo de Mercedes (which looks beautiful and as good as it tastes), the meringue is less light than I expected, but has a thicker and gooey texture with a crusty coating that fills your mouth with an excitement to reach the centre. A beautifully smooth thick custard centre that wonderfully compliments the meringue roulade.
Wonderfully rich, just be careful how much you eat in one sitting because it’s extremely more-ish.
